Zakkun face

This is now mine

Putts around the neighborhood real quick... And just got insured for $18/mo. I'm very excited :p. After countless times of stalling it, I got a hang of it but will put it away until I get my license, which through the insurence I have 30 days to do it. So hopefully soon I should be good to go.

Tommy rode it home for me and he said it performed very well, slight hesitations at first throttle but no biggie. Handles great, everything works and it's pretty damn loud with the custom pipe. No valve chatter or anything like that, so I'm good to go. (And no, we are not packrats, we have community garages so the boxes and crap shown do not belong to us!!!)

Hibbary Face

I can haz motorcycle?

So, I finally did it.

Me and Tommy looked at bikes on Saturday at a dealer by my parents house in Wauconda.  We found some pretty cool machines but what caught my eye was a stunning 00' CBR600F4, orange and black.  Bike was very clean, despite a bent foot brake lever and a small blemish on the muffler.  Looks consistent with tipping over, no way in hell was this thing ever laid down, might have possibly brushed up against a curb.

So, to make a long story short because I'll post pics when I pick it up, the asking price was high for the milage 14,xxx.  So, I give the guy a $1000 deposit, writes me up a sales receipt for the full price of the bike.  Now, everybody knows you don't pay the asking price.  So, I call him later saying I wasn't going to pay $5100 for that (tax, title, license, doc fee really ADDS THE FUCK UP BTW) and start to bargin with him.  To my suprise, he doesn't budge, saying (and understandably so) somebody will pay that price by the end of the week, it is the beginning of riding season after all.  So, what do I do?  I walked away, and happy I did.  Told him I'd be by the next day to pick the deposit up, no biggie.

He calls me a few hours later and starts saying he really hates turning down business and what not, lets make a deal.  Ok, my interest is sparked again :D

I came in there today and we worked out a price for $5000 on the dot with a new front tire, and about $400 in riding hear, including a black $200 HJC helmet.  So, you figure $4400 for the bike itself.  I know I still overpaid but at this point, I found something I really like and I don't have to go through a major headache with a title transfer.  Incidently, Tommy's putting up with a lot of bullshit with the DMV because the seller of his R6 fucked the title up in a way where he's going to have to get the bike completly retitled and wait a good 2-3 months for plates.
Fuck that.

Also a druken  [info]cliff_husky wants me to leave him a shout on this LJ post, so here ya' go pup ;)
