Kinda weird
I'll leave for training today, but what scares me is I woke up with the intro to Full Metal Jacket playing vividly in my head o.o.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

Going through one of my myspace blogs, I found this gem dating to early 05'. Cracked me up remembering the good ole' days :D
"Okay, haven't posted a blog in a while but this has been on my mind for a little while. The skate industry, right? I skateboard but I also know what's bullshit.
I recall reading something in some skate mag, coulda been Transworld, about how some people are all up in arms because blank decks, decks w/o any graphics on them, are becoming more popular. This doesn't seem like a problem but as i read more it goes on to state something along the lines of, "Blank decks aren't good because skaters aren't supporting the industry. You need to buy a graphic deck because it's a form of advertisement for that particular team or what not..." It's all bullshit, here's why.
I can get a blank deck for about $25-$30, with grip tape and all that maybe for around $35. A graphic deck could run me well over $50 easily, and that's not including grip tape that's put on right there at the skate shop. What's the problem with this? The problem is, why do I want to spend more money on something that's going to get trashed in a very short period of time? Oh, well, I'm supporting the skate industry. Well, sorry I'm a broke college kid that doesn't really give a crap about professional skateboarding, I skate cause it's fun, I enjoy doing it.
How am I not supporting the skate industry? I have no idea. I buy name-brand skate stuff, my trucks in Independant, I have Fillmore wheels, I skate Swiss bearing...not to mention I have 3 pairs of DVS sneakers and a pair of Circa, on top of all the T-shirts that I have bought in the past. Oh, I'm not supporting the skate industry. Don't even get me started on the people who wear all this stuff that don't even skate, they're in essence supporting the skate industry too.
It's all this Coroporate America advertising that pisses me off, now it's clear that mentality has infiltrated skaters. It's sad it comes down to advertising on the bottom of a skateboard or lack thereof that people are getting pissed. This isn't California either.
I'm sure back in the day it wasn't like this, but what do I know. I would maybe buy a graphic deck if I had the money, or it had some animal design, but all I know is when my skateboard gets shitty, I can either buy a blank deck and have money for a couple cases of beer or support the skate industry. Wait, I thought I was already doing that?"
Took the test at the DMV today, passed perfectly :D. Mind you on I was on a 250cc dual-sport :p. So, I got the new license and I'm ready to go wooo!

Putts around the neighborhood real quick... And just got insured for $18/mo. I'm very excited :p. After countless times of stalling it, I got a hang of it but will put it away until I get my license, which through the insurence I have 30 days to do it. So hopefully soon I should be good to go.
Tommy rode it home for me and he said it performed very well, slight hesitations at first throttle but no biggie. Handles great, everything works and it's pretty damn loud with the custom pipe. No valve chatter or anything like that, so I'm good to go. (And no, we are not packrats, we have community garages so the boxes and crap shown do not belong to us!!!)

This was the best thing I've ever nommed... The breakfast burrito from Deluxe Diner on Clark & Devon.
I'm bored, sue me :p
